The Sash Window Workshop: Our New Workshop Video is Released

We are happy to share a new updated workshop video showing a tour of our workshop in Bracknell, Berkshire.

The video reflects the recent growth of the company and the opening of our new workshop, allowing us to considerably increase our manufacturing capabilities.

The video is designed as a tour of the workshop, showing how our windows and doors are crafted, from the initial pieces of timber to the finished product ready for installation.

The video starts with a shot showing the external view of both our workshops, before showing the skilled craftsmen and women who work in our workshop.

The timber is cut to size, sanded down and assembled to start to look like a window or door.

Once the joinery has been put together in our joinery shop, the windows and doors move into our paint department. They are then hung on our paint line and the design of the windows or doors are entered into the computer controlling the paint line robot. The robot then proceeds to paint the windows or doors, ensuring that three coats of paint are applied evenly across the product, with the appropriate drying time taking place between coats.

Once the final coat of paint has been applied and dried, the windows and doors move into our finishing department. In the finishing department the glass is added, and final finishing touches are made. The windows and doors are then safely packaged and moved into our Goods Out area ready for collection and installation.

Quality checks are carried out throughout the manufacturing process to check that the window or door exactly matches the required specification. Checks are also carried out to ensure that the moving part of the window or door (the sashes / leaves) will operate smoothly within the frame and that the product meets our high standards.

Timber Windows and Doors: Made in Britain

We are proud to have been manufacturing timber windows and doors in Berkshire since 1994. Having started from a small, converted pig shed in Ascot, today we operate from two large workshops in Bracknell and last year we manufactured over £7.5 million worth of new joinery.

We believe it is important to manufacture our windows in the UK to ensure the highest quality products, while also providing local jobs.

Customers are welcome to visit our workshops and showroom, by prior arrangement, to see the quality of the products manufactured and the level of attention to detail and care that goes into making our windows and doors.

To arrange a tour of the workshop, or to obtain a quote to replace your windows and doors, contact us on 01344 868 668.  Please note that we offer a supply only service nationwide, with an installation service for properties located across London and Southern England.
