Timber Bi-Fold and Sliding Doors
The Sash Window Workshop manufactures timber bi-fold and sliding doors to suit your property
Bi-fold doors and sliding doors, can open up a space to the outdoors. Bi-fold doors run along a simple track and are hinged to fold open, meaning they can provide flexibility to be partially open, completely open or completely closed. Sliding doors also run along a track but are designed to slide so one section of the door fits behind the other section of the door.
Designed to be in keeping with the character of your home
All of our wooden doors are made to order by craftsmen to each individual design that is agreed with you before manufacture.
We can provide bespoke design solutions to meet your requirements and incorporate the very latest in door technology to ensure industry leading security, insulation, durability, finish and reliability. All our Accoya sliding doors and bi-fold doors are designed for a lifetime of use and hardwood and come with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee and a 20 year joinery guarantee.
The Benefits of Sliding and Bi-Fold Doors
Sliding and bi-fold doors are becoming increasingly popular as they allow you to open your home to the garden during the warmer summer months. In the winter months they allow you to look out onto your garden from the warmth of your home.
Some of the other advantages of timber sliding and bi-fold doors include:
- Flexibility. Bi-fold and sliding doors offer the flexibility to choose how much you want the doors to open. With bi-fold doors there is also the option to include an access door, providing you with quick and easy access by allowing one section of the door to open independently.
- Increased natural light. The glass panels in sliding and bi-fold doors allow for more light to flood into your room.
- Making a room feel more spacious. For smaller spaces they can transform the room, creating the illusion of the room being more spacious.

The Glass We Use in Bi-Fold and Sliding Doors
One of our great strengths is our ability to offer bespoke glazing specifications, thereby providing solutions to a wide range of our customers’ problems.
We can cater for a large range of applications and styles, such as patterned, obscure, safety and laminated glass.
The Standard of Finish We Deliver
All our sliding and bi-fold doors have at least three factory-applied coats of paint. These comprise base-coat primer, preservative, undercoat and a white semi-gloss topcoat finish. We can also offer a large range of coloured paints, as well as bespoke plain and waxed hand coated finishes if required, at an additional cost. We use multipoint locks to securely lock your timber doors, offering a range of styles to suit every need and taste.
Building Regulations and Standards
Our complete new timber doors conform to or exceed relevant building regulations (FENSA) requirements and we comply with European quality standards EN1279 for glazing and EN14351 for manufacturing quality. However, please note that your building is over 18 metres from the ground, FENSA will not issue a certificate. If you live in a property which is over 18 metres high, you will need to contact your local council to arrange for Local Authority Building Inspectors to certify that the doors comply with building regulations.
