External Timber French Doors
We manufacture and install traditional timber French doors to suit the character of your home.
Also referred to as patio doors, balcony doors, or French windows, wooden French doors are a double set of doors located at the rear of the property.
As timber door specialists, we offer a wide range of styles of French doors to suit Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, and more modern properties.
Made-to-Measure Replacement French Doors
Established in 1994, we have extensive experience manufacturing and installing timber doors to suit period properties.
We are proud to provide a high-quality product and service, reflected in the fact that roughly half our orders are from recommendations or repeat customers.
Operating from our workshops in Berkshire, all our new French doors are made to measure to your requirements. We can either match the style of your existing external doors or provide a design to your precise requirements.
New External Timber French Doors
The Sash Window Workshop offers a supply and install service across London and the South, with a supply-only service nationwide.
Our external wooden French doors are manufactured by our expert craftsmen using traditional techniques while improving the performance and security of your home.
Our replacement doors are draught-proofed, helping further improve the thermal efficiency of your home.
Our new timber doors conform to or exceed relevant building regulations (FENSA) requirements and come fully factory finished.
Energy-Efficient, Double-Glazed French Doors
All our replacement timber doors come double glazed as standard to help keep your home warm during the winter months.
We can also manufacture our French doors to be single glazed or use heritage double glazing when required for listed buildings or Conservation Areas.
We offer bespoke glazing specifications, and our wide range of suppliers enables us to cater to a large range of applications and styles, such as patterned, obscure, safety, and laminated glass.

High-Quality, Sustainable French Doors
The quality of the timber that is used in your wooden French doors is of paramount importance to the lifespan and performance of your doors.
We recommend using Accoya, which is a sustainable timber, for your timber French doors. Accoya is reasonably forgiving of any subsequent lack of maintenance or neglect and is designed to last a lifetime, coming with a 50-year anti-rot guarantee.
All our bespoke French doors have at least three factory-applied coats of paint comprising base-coat primer, preservative, undercoat, and a white semi-gloss topcoat finish. We can also offer a large range of coloured paints, as well as bespoke, plain, and waxed hand-coated finishes, if required, at an extra cost. Find out more about our paint and stain finishes.
We also offer a range of ironmongery options with our French doors, including polished brass, antique brass, polished chrome, and satin chrome.
In addition to wooden French doors, we also manufacture and install new sash windows, casement windows, external bi-folding doors and front doors, alongside offering a draught-proofing service for timber windows.
