At The Sash Window Workshop, every bespoke timber window and door begins its journey at our manufacturing centre in Bracknell. While many of our customers visit our showroom or workshop during their project, not everyone gets the opportunity to see the full scale of our operation.

To offer a different perspective, we recently welcomed Kenny from Masters of the Sky, who captured our site using drone photography and videography. The result is a unique bird’s-eye view of the facilities where our timber sash windows, casement windows, French doors, bifold doors and front doors are carefully manufactured, finished and prepared for installation.

Where Every Project Begins

Seen from above, the three main areas of our site are clearly visible, each playing an important role in bringing our customers’ projects to life.

To the left is our joinery and machining workshop. This is where skilled craftspeople transform high-quality timber into bespoke windows and doors. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques allows us to produce products that are built to last while meeting the exact requirements of each project.

Every timber window and door is made to order, ensuring that dimensions, glazing specifications, detailing and finishes are tailored to the individual property. This bespoke approach allows us to create products that complement everything from listed buildings and period properties to contemporary homes and new developments.

The first floor above the workshop is home to our office team, who work closely with customers throughout every stage of their project, from the initial enquiry through to survey, manufacture and installation.

At the centre of the site sits our showroom, where customers can explore our product range and discuss their project requirements with our experienced team.

Finishing Touches That Make the Difference

To the right of the site is our finishing department, where products receive their final preparation before leaving our workshop.

This area houses our robotic paint spraying technology, specialist finishing team and glazing department. Combining advanced technology with skilled craftsmanship helps ensure a consistent, high-quality finish across every product.

Before windows and doors leave our manufacturing centre, they undergo thorough quality checks to ensure they meet our exacting standards. This attention to detail is a key part of our commitment to providing products that offer excellent performance, durability and appearance.

Supporting Sustainability Through Manufacturing

The drone footage also highlights one of the less visible elements of our workshop: our biomass boiler.

This system plays an important role in our sustainability efforts by using timber offcuts and wood waste generated during the manufacturing process. The biomass boiler helps heat our workshops during the colder months, allowing us to make better use of materials that might otherwise go to waste.

As a timber window and door manufacturer, we continually look for ways to reduce waste within our manufacturing processes, and this is one of the ways we strive to make our processes more environmentally responsible.

From Bracknell to Homes Across London and the Home Counties

Towards the end of the video, you’ll see the large roller shutter doors that mark the starting point of each working day for our installation teams.

From here, our installers travel throughout London, Berkshire and the Home Counties, fitting bespoke timber windows and doors for a wide range of properties, from period homes and listed buildings to contemporary developments.

While every property is different, the same principles guide each project: quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering products that enhance both the appearance and performance of a home.
