The Sash Window Workshop have been approved to participate in the Government’s Kickstart Scheme.
The scheme is aimed at helping people aged 16–24, who are at risk of long-term unemployment, into the job market by providing them with 6 month work placements.
We will be advertising 5 job placements through the scheme for people to learn and develop new skills in our workshop, installation and purchasing departments.
All job applicants must currently be claiming Universal Credit and are referred directly from the jobcentre, meaning that unfortunately we cannot accept direct applications for these roles.
The new roles that we will be hiring for as part of the Kickstart Scheme are:
- Sawyer and planer
- Joinery assembler
- Finisher – joinery
- Assistant fitter
- Purchasing assistant
All employees employed through the scheme will undergo extensive training alongside our experienced employees, to help them develop lifelong skills. After the 6 months, if the work placement is successful, there may be an opportunity for them to join us as a permanent employee.
At The Sash Window Workshop, we are proud to be an independently run, British company. All our new wooden windows and doors are manufactured in-house by our skilled craftsmen at our workshop in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Our installation team are also all highly trained, skilled craftsmen who take pride in installing high quality windows and doors into our customers’ homes.
We are committed to investing in the future of our industry, helping to ensure that the specialist skill of traditional craftsmanship, which is required to manufacture and install our windows and doors, is passed on to future generations.
