As part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, we (The Sash Window Workshop) hosted an event for some of our professional repeat customers and longstanding suppliers, along with some employees (past and present), at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The event took place on the evening of the 5th March and involved a private tour of Lord’s Cricket Ground, followed by drinks and dinner in the Long Room.
As part of the tour, guests got to see the cricket players’ changing rooms, the view of the grounds from the balcony, the museum, and learn about the history of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
This included learning about some of the iconic and sometime controversial cricket matches that have taken place at Lord’s, the history of the Ashes, and how Lord’s Cricket Ground is also home to one of the oldest tennis courts, with Real Tennis having been played at the venue since the 1830s after MCC was asked to help with the rules for the game. We were also treated to watch a game of Real Tennis that was being played by MCC members.
After pre-dinner drinks in the bar, guests proceeded into the Long Room, with Richard Dollar (Managing Director and Founder of The Sash Window Workshop) giving a short speech, thanking those who have helped The Sash Window Workshop grow into an 11-million-pound business, before dinner was served.
Below are some photos from the event. To see more photos, follow our social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn), where we will be sharing more photos over the coming days.
We would like to thank everyone who has trusted us with their business over the last 30 years, and to all our present and past employees and suppliers for their hard work to help make the business a success.
We hope that everyone who attended enjoyed the evening!
