Giving Back: Supporting UK Charities Through Our Long Service Recognition Scheme
At The Sash Window Workshop, we believe that recognising our team goes beyond celebrating milestones — it’s about giving back in a meaningful way. This summer, as part of our long service employee recognition scheme, we were proud to donate a total of £4,150 to 13 incredible UK charities chosen by our team
Celebrating Commitment by Making a Difference
Our long service awards are designed not only to acknowledge dedication and loyalty, but also to support causes that matter most to our employees. Alongside a gift voucher, each team member celebrating a milestone is invited to nominate a charity close to their heart, with a donation made on their behalf.
This initiative allows us to recognise the contribution of our team while also supporting a wide range of important causes.
Recognising an Incredible Combined Contribution
This year, we celebrated 35 employees who have collectively contributed an impressive 495 years of service to the company. Their dedication reflects the strong values and culture that underpin everything we do.
The charities they chose represent a diverse range of causes, including national health organisations, local hospices, children’s charities, and animal welfare groups.
Supporting Charities Across the UK
The charities supported this year include:
Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK, Foyle Hospice, Princess Alice Hospice, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, Swings & Smiles, British Heart Foundation, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Mind, Daisy’s Dream, 52 Lives, and Pine Ridge Dog Sanctuary.
Each of these organisations carries out vital work within communities across the UK and beyond, and we are proud to support their efforts.
A Meaningful Way to Give Back
Richard Dollar, Managing Director, shared his thoughts on the initiative:
“We’re proud to celebrate the commitment and loyalty of our long-serving employees by giving something back to the charities they care about. This initiative is a meaningful way for us to recognise staff contributions while also supporting incredible organisations doing vital work across the UK and locally.”
Built on People, Purpose and Values
This initiative reflects our wider approach as a business, combining traditional values with a forward-thinking mindset. We believe that a strong company is built not only on the quality of its products, but also on the people behind it and the impact it has beyond day-to-day work.
As a Which? Trusted Trader and members of FENSA and the British Woodworking Federation, we remain committed to high standards of craftsmanship, customer service, and responsible business practices.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the opportunity to support such worthwhile causes through this initiative. As we continue to grow, we look forward to recognising more milestones and giving back to even more charities in the years ahead.
