The Sash Window Workshop is celebrating its 20th year of business. The family business has grown strongly over 20 years and serves customers across London and the South. The company provides a range of bespoke window and door services, delivered by an experienced team of craftsmen with outstanding customer service standards.
The Sash Window Workshop was founded in 1994 by Richard Dollar, operating out of a small converted pig shed in Ascot, Berkshire. The business grew from humble beginnings and now trades out of its workshop in Bracknell, Berkshire, employing 75 members of staff and turning over £6 million.
Managing Director and founder Richard Dollar tells how the company’s growth has not always been easy.
“It’s been an interesting 20 years starting from nothing with a hand to mouth existence. Things really started to take off when my father invested in the business in 1996, since then we have gone from strength to strength. The last three years over the recession have been very difficult at times but now the outlook is much brighter. We continue to invest, develop and improve our business and for the first time since 2010 we go into the New Year with a “chocabloc” order book and look forward to a profitable start to 2014.”
The Sash Window Workshop’s reputation for quality and service is aptly demonstrated by the fact that 60% of business comes from repeat customers, or customers that have been recommended to them by friends or relatives.
The loyal and dedicated staff, many of whom have served with the company for much of its 20 years, provide the backbone of the business delivering the high standards of quality and service experienced by its customers. Richard Dollar says this is what has made The Sash Window Workshop successful and has built its good reputation.
The business is not a typical new window company, but more of a window solutions company. The Sash Window Workshop provides bespoke solutions to customers’ traditional window and door problems. There is a full portfolio of products developed specifically for providing the best solution to client’s needs, whether they require complete new windows and doors, refurbishment services or a mixture of both.
Dollar says “In our business one size does not fit all, we are very careful to tailor a solution for each client and try to deliver to their exact requirements”.
