We are proud to announce that we have once again achieved Carbon Neutral Plus certification from Carbon Footprint Ltd, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact and operating responsibly.
Following a full independent assessment for the 12-month period ending 31st December 2023, our market-based carbon emissions were measured at 386.6 tonnes of CO2e. In line with Carbon Footprint Ltd’s rigorous methodology – following DEFRA guidelines and including Scope 1, 2 and selected Scope 3 categories – our emissions were then offset through verified carbon reduction projects.
To achieve Carbon Neutral Plus status, we offset 448 tonnes of carbon dioxide, going beyond our measured footprint by more than 15%. The offset was achieved by supporting two independently verified projects:
- Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project (VCS 1748) – Protecting tropical rainforest in Cambodia and preventing deforestation through sustainable land management and community engagement.
- Afforestation of Degraded Grasslands in Vichada, Colombia (VCS 2512) – Restoring degraded land through sustainable forestry, capturing carbon and enhancing local biodiversity.
This certification reflects not only our carbon offsetting efforts, but also our wider commitment to sustainability – from responsibly sourcing timber to minimise waste and improving energy efficiency across our Berkshire workshops and through our fleet of electric-powered sales vehicles.

The Sash Window Workshop and Carbon Neutral Plus
At The Sash Window Workshop, we believe that it is important to be as sustainable as possible. While in an ideal world we would reduce our emissions to zero, we recognise that this is not possible while running a business and maintaining the high-quality of our products and customer service.
We therefore look to offset more than our total carbon emissions. We believe that we were the first window company in the UK to do this, originally achieving Carbon Neutral Plus status in 2022.
