A recent project in South London showcases how a carefully designed timber kitchen door can completely transform the look and feel of a home. Installed as the final phase of a wider renovation, this bespoke rear kitchen door set provides a striking connection between interior living space and the garden beyond.
Creating a Seamless Connection Between Home and Garden
The newly installed rear kitchen door set was designed to enhance both practicality and visual appeal. Finished in a rich deep blue with subtle slate grey undertones, the colour choice creates a bold yet elegant statement, complementing the character of the property while adding a contemporary edge. From inside the home, the doors frame the garden beautifully, allowing natural light to flow into the kitchen space. From the outside, they provide a standout feature that ties together the overall look of the rear elevation.
A Continuation of an Earlier Window Upgrade
This installation followed an earlier phase of works completed for the same customer. Previously, we installed 7 replacement timber sash windows into the existing frames, and 1 new bespoke sash window. By completing both the windows and doors, the property now benefits from a consistent, high-quality finish throughout — improving not only appearance but also performance and energy efficiency.
Traditional Details That Make the Difference
To complement the period character of the home, the customer selected a range of traditional ironmongery, including a classic Victorian Scroll lever handle and traditional monkey tail stays, all finished in our beautiful black antique. These carefully chosen finishing touches enhance the authenticity of the design while adding subtle decorative detail that reflects the property’s heritage.
