Rich Heritage Areas of London

London is home to thousands of period properties. With such a rich heritage, there are several conservation areas and listed buildings across the city helping to maintain and preserve the history.

The Romans initially founded London, then known as Londinium, in AD 43. Since then the city has grown to be the largest in the UK.

Today London’s architecture spans from the Roman period, with London’s ancient amphitheatre (located underneath the Guildhall Art Gallery), through to Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and the modern day.

At The Sash Window Workshop we have over 20 years’ experience working across London and we regularly comply to the conservation areas within the city.

If you would like to learn more about a specific area of London, we have written London area guides in the following locations:

  • Kensington and Chelsea
  • Hammersmith and Fulham
  • Islington
  • Hampstead
  • Westminster
  • Wimbledon

The area guides look at the history of the area and some of the local important and prestigious buildings.

If your timber windows or doors need repairing or replacing, contact The Sash Window Workshop on: 01344 868 668.
