Timber Windows and Doors: London
Traditional Timber Windows and Doors
The Sash Window Workshop has been replacing timber sash windows, casement windows and doors in London since 1994. We have extensive experience working in period properties and in conservation areas.
Traditional timber windows and doors were not manufactured to consistent standards as they are today. Consequently, every window that we repair or manufacture is different, meaning we have to pay extraordinary attention to detail. All our new wood windows and doors are therefore bespoke and made to meet your individual requirements.
Timber Doors and Windows in London
We have extensive experience working on period properties across Greater London and our installers can be spotted working in and around London every day.
Every year we replace and draught proof thousands of sash windows, casement windows, and external timber doors in period properties and listed buildings across North, South, East and West London.
We have extensive experience working in Conservation Areas in multiple different London boroughs, including:
Barnet, Brent, Bromley, Camden, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond, Southwark, Sutton, Wandsworth, and Westminster.
Excellent Customer Service
Did you know that approximately half our orders every year come from recommendations or previous customers? We strive to provide a high quality product and installation alongside excellent customer service.
We are proud to have been Which? Trusted Traders since 2014 and to have an ‘Excellent‘ Trustpilot rating. We have also won several awards, including most recently winning the Which? Trusted Trader of the Month award in March 2023.
All our salesmen understand the importance of listening to your needs and will help you identify the right solution to meet your requirements.
We offer a range of services including secondary glazing, installing new sashes into existing frames (replacing just the moving parts), draught sealing and replacement windows and doors. We offer various new joinery products including complete new sash windows, casement windows, French doors, front doors, sliding doors and bi-fold doors.
Accoya Timber: 50 Years Anti-Rot Guarantee
For new wooden sash windows, casement windows and external doors, we recommend using a timber called Accoya.
Accoya is a FSC certified, sustainably sourced modified wood. The wood is highly durable and stable, coming with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee.
This high durability means that it is designed to last and that the window or door will not require as much maintenance as some other timbers.
Having been an early adapter of Accoya, we are proud to be an Accoya approved manufacturer, demonstrating that our windows and doors are manufactured to a high standard.
When deciding on the design of your London timber windows or doors, we can also offer a wide variety of different glass and ironmongery options to meet your requirements.
Energy Efficient Windows and Doors
All our windows and doors are manufactured in our workshops in Bracknell, Berkshire by our skilled craftsmen. We utilise the latest technology to manufacture high quality, traditional timber windows and doors to suit your home.
Our timber sash windows, casement windows and external doors all come fully factory finished. They are double glazed as standard to help improve energy efficiency and keep your home warm.
If you are unable to have standard double glazing due to planning restrictions (for example if your home is a listed building), we can also manufacture like-for-like single glazed windows or we can install our heritage double glazing (when approved by planning permission).
All new windows and doors are also draught proofed to further improve energy efficiency.
If your windows do not need replacing, we also offer a separate draught proofing service for timber sash windows and casement windows in London, aimed to help improve the thermal efficiency by stopping draughts from coming through gaps arounds your windows.
