Transforming a Victorian Workshop into a Beautiful Home, East London
Case study: East London window and door renovation project
This late Victorian property, originally built as a warehouse, had fallen into disrepair and required major renovation to become a welcoming family home.
We were approached by Mr S. to carry out works to the windows and doors at the property. The building was in a bad condition, with rotten windows and doors which all required replacement. The replacement windows and doors needed to be double glazed and to comply with the conservation area requirements.
When looking for the right company to carry out the work, Mr S. invited 5 different companies to visit the property to go through the requirements. After assessing each of the different quotations and companies, Mr S. decided to go ahead with the quotation we provided.
“From the start it was clear that The Sash Window Workshop cared as much as I did.”
With the renovation of the whole property being carried out simultaneously, we were required to work alongside a variety of other trades when completing the work. In total, 5 new doors and 10 new sash windows and casement windows were installed within the property over 3 weeks.
“It was really important to me that I could find a company that shared my need for quality and cost but also help me avoid any mistakes that could occur from me not having done this before,” comments Mr S.
Since installing the new windows and doors, Mr S. commented that neighbours have “specifically knocked to tell us how much the windows have improved the look of the street.”
