New sashes installed into existing window frames, Southeast London

Bespoke new double glazed sashes replaced into the existing window frames for a renovation project in Southeast London.

The Sash Window Workshop were contacted by an architect looking to have work carried out at a project he was working on for a customer in Southeast London.

The architect was ideally looking for new sashes to be installed in the Edwardian property, to allow for the windows to be upgraded from single glazing to like-for-like double glazed equivalents.

A visit was arranged for the following week and, shortly after the appointment, a quotation was sent across to install new sashes into the existing window frames in four windows.

The homeowner then arranged to visit the workshop to see the quality of the windows being manufactured before deciding whether to proceed. After the visit to the workshop, the architect spoke to their client, and they agreed to proceed with the work.

An additional survey was then conducted to check the exact details, ensuring that the new sashes would operate smoothly, before they were manufactured at our workshops in Bracknell.

The windows were installed by two of The Sash Window Workshop’s fitters over two days. One window was extra challenging to install, due to it spanning two floors, with the stairs against the inside of the window.

Upon completing the work, the homeowner commented that they would have no hesitation in recommending The Sash Window Workshop and our product.

The customer has since approached us to carry out more work at the property.
